Gentle Peace Stained Glass Window Card

I love a successful stamping day!
This is the NEW Photopolymer set 'Gentle Peace'. I stamped the image with Stazon on vellum, flipped it over and then coloured in the 'stained glass' with Blendability pens.
I then stamped the same image to the front of the card and cut out the outside edge leaving a hole to adhere the image from the back. I will probably do a tutorial of this one although its not too tricky to figure out.
I am in love with how well this turned out. Thinking this will be one of the cards we mail out this year. Adding a battery operated candle just makes it look even more awesome.

Kind Koala

I knew this stamp set was going to be fun. Finally an Aussie themed stamp set I can play with! Yay!
Smoky Slate is the perfect koala colour IMO. I stamped 'him' on the cardstock with Stazon and just cut him out. I love 'fussy cutting'. Much easier than colouring sometimes. I used Basic Grey for a little added depth and Daffodil Delight to add a pop of colour. The koala is popped up with Dimensionals to help him stand out a bit. He is just too cute!

Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek #2 - Festival of Trees

I am having SO much fun with this set. I have pretty much a million ideas with what I could do with it.
Available in the Holiday Catalog August 28th. The 'Festival of Trees' set also has a coordinating punch just to make life a little bit easier. The red ornaments on the tree are the little half pearls 'painted' with a Cherry Cobbler Blendability marker.

Here is another design. The colour used is Lost Lagoon.

And this one... I'm still going..

Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek #1

I love being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator! One of my most favourite things is being able to order and play with stamps and products before the catalogs are released. I especially get excited for the Holiday stamps.
I know its a bit early, but I couldn't wait to play with a couple Christmas sets. Products from the Holiday Catalog will be available for purchase August 28th 2014.

This cute Santa comes from a set called 'Get Your Santa On'. Blendabilities work perfectly for colouring this guy in. The stars embossing folder is also new.

One of my favourite sets from last year made a come back to my excitement. Endless Wishes was a set released individually that had sold out. Both of these sets are Photopolymer.
I still have a couple more sets I haven't had the chance to play with yet so stay tuned.

RAK project

After getting some very sad news about the passing of one of my fellow stampers, it's got me thinking about how much we need to bless and love on people while they're still around.
With that being said, I would like to start a new project. The amount of interest I get will determine how often I do it.
My idea is to make a 'Thinking of you' card, or something to that effect, and ask you to 'like' it if you know someone that could use some encouragement. I will choose a name randomly from the pool of likers within a few days.
This would serve basically as a Random act of Kindness or RAK.

With that being said, f you know someone that needs to be reminded how AWESOME they are, like this post on my Facebook page. I will choose a liker randomly. I will then ask you to PM me with the intended receiver's details and the card will be sent to them anonymously.

Hexagonal Treat Box

Guess who's been prowling on Pinterest again? You guessed it! I love when I come across something that's a little different, but instantly gets my creative juices mixing. This was one of those things. When I find things on Pinterest, I always try to put my own spin on things, not that there is anything wrong with CASEing. (Copy And Share Everything) It's just not my thing. So here is my little version.

I found this tutorial by Erna Logtenberg. It was in Dutch. Thank you again to my handy dandy little computer for translating. It was intended to hold a tea light but as you can see, I changed it into a Treat Box instead and added some clear windows. I will work on a tutorial of my own for this one in the near future.
I made the cute little banner from this years Sale-a-bration products - Banner Blast and Banner Punch.

Mini Album Tutorial

As I mentioned before I found this awesome tutorial for a Mini Album on Pinterest not too long ago which was in French. But thanks to the marvels of technology my computer was able to translate for me. I just thought I would do my own to show the scoring step by step and of course for those that weren't able to interpret it.

For the album base you are going to need a;
12 x 12 piece of cardstock
Scoring tool like my Simply Scored Scoring tool sold by Stampin' Up! of course.

Lets begin!
First of all score your cardstock at 3 1/2", 3 5/8", 7 5/8", 7 7/8" & 11 3/4"

Turn your cardstock 90 degrees to the right and score at 4" and 8"

Keeping the cardstock in the same position, go back and score at 1 3/4", 2 1/8", 5 7/8", 6 1/8", 9 7/8" and 10 1/4" but only score down a third into your cardstock.

Again, keep your cardstock in the same position, go back and score at 3 3/4" and 8 1/4" but only on the 2nd third of the cardstock. (the middle row)

Cut out the extra bits as shown.

And your cardstock should now look like this.

Place adhesive over the tabs as shown. Fold the cardstock and adhere making sure to tuck the tabs under. You should now have a pocket.

Do the same thing with the smaller side pockets. I adhered the bottom end of the pocket as well to keep the tag from sliding through once the album was complete.

Your album should now look like this.

The two left pockets will fold in first, then the right, then the lower and the top will fold down.

Then the fun begins. The scrapbooking!

Here is one I completed with the 'Peachy Keen' stamp set and Retro Fresh DSP.

                                Real Red - 2 Pieces  1” x 3 1/8 “
Real Red – Sqaure piece enough to punch heart
                                Crumb Cake- 1 7/8” x 5 ¼”
                                Whisper White – 1 7/8” x 5 ¼” (back)
                                Whisper White – 1 5/8” x 1” (tag)
Whisper White – Large enough piece to stamp bird
                                Coastal Cabana – 1 ¼” x 2 5/8” (tag)
DS Paper                 3 pieces - 1 7/8” x 2 1/8”
                                1 ¾” x 5 1/8”
Stamp Sets –           Yippee Skippee
                                Love You More
Coastal Cabana Ribbon – 2 pieces - 2” long each
White Bakers twine
1/8” wide sticky strip
Other tape adhesive
Heart Punch
Scalloped Tag Topper Punch
Piercing Mat and Piercing tool

Markers – Crumb Cake, Real Red, Coastal Cabana
Scoring tool

Directions
1.       Score the large piece of Real Red cardstock along long edge at 2 1/8, 4 ¼, 6 3/8 & 8 ½”. Turn to the right 90 degrees and score short side at 2 ¼”.
2.       Take the short strips and score at ½ and 2 5/8”

Cut along solid lines and make tab. Fold along dotted lines

1.       Adhere DSP onto crumb cake cardstock

1.       Adhere DSP as shown onto Real Red Cardstock

1.       Fold side tab in and add adhesive. I used Scor-Tape

1.       Remove backing off adhesive. Fold card over to adhere edges of the card together.

1.       Open out your card and it should now look like this.

1.       Set aside. Grab the 2 pieces of Real Red that you had scored earlier. Fold in a ‘Z’ pattern

1.       Use sticky strip on one of the longer edges. This will be used to stick on the ribbon. Use  scor-tape or other adhesive on the outside edges on opposite sides.

1.       Add the ribbon to the top edge removing the sticky strip backing

1.       Remove the backing off the Scor-Tape one piece of cardstock at a time. Stick one side in first and then the other starting at either the one at the back or front. It doesn’t really matter. Your box should now look like this.

1.       Punch out heart. Use piercing template for piercing the inside edge or freehand.

Set aside.

1.       Take your piece of Coastal Cabana and slide into Tag Punch. It’s going to be narrower than the punch. Center and hold with finger while you punch.

1.       Using this stamp from the ‘Yipee Skippee’ set, use markers to paint stamp and stamp onto the small Whisper White rectangle

1.       Adhere to tag

1.       Stick heart to back of tag

1.       Add tape or adhesive to back of tag

1.       And adhere to front of back divider. Tie on Bakers Twine.

1.       Colour stamp from set ‘Love you More’ with markers. Stamp onto White Cardstock. Don’t forget to huff on it before you stamp the image just in case some of the ink has dried before you are ready to stamp ;)
2.       Put some adhesive behind the birds feet and stick to front of the front divider.

1.       Use markers again to colour in stamp and stamp on bottom lower right or where ever else you wish.
2.       Adhere to the back of your card.

You are done!
Card will fold flat for mailing in an A2 envelope which is one of the best things of this card I think!
