More pennants. :)

I love the perks of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. I always get excited about seeing the new products coming out and the chance to pre-order. Before the launch of a new Idea Book we can select from a FEW products. On the other stuff, we have to wait like everyone else in excited anticipation. So while I wait for my new shipment of SU stamps and goodies, I have been playing with the new in colors and the stamp sets I have that didn't retire. This card shows 2 of the new 2012-2014 in colors Primrose Petals and Raspberry Ripple together with Crumb Cake and Early Espresso. I am still hooked on pennants if you can't tell. lol. The stamp sets used are Pennant Parade and Tiny Tags. Punches are Petite Pennants Builder, Scallop Edge Border, Jewelry Tag and Itty bitty Shapes punch pack.  Other tools used: Paper Piercing Tool, Mat and Guide, Early Espresso and Raspberry Ripple Stampin' Write Markers, Soft Suede ink pad and sponge used for distressing edges, Whisper White Baker's twine.

Easter Egg Bunny Box

My Easter project. I have been dying to make this since I ordered the stamp set! Thanks again to Brenda Quintana for the inspiration from her tutorial on how to make these fun boxes. My tutorial closely follows hers, except for sizing and decorating.

To begin you will need 1 piece of cardstock cut at 7 7/8" x 7 7/8" and 4 pieces cut at 2 1/4" x 4 3/8". These will make your box and dividers. I used Wild Wasabi. Cut one other piece of cardstock at 3 1/2" x 7 1/2". Pink Pirouette shown here.

Take the square piece and score at 1 1/8", 2 1/4", 3 3/8", 4 1/2", 5 5/8" and 6 3/4".
Turn 90 degrees and repeat

Your cardstock should now look like this.

Cut the 3 squares off each corner.

Your cardstock should now look like this.

Cut on the 4 lines as shown.

Snip slots. 2 each side about 1/16" wide by cutting down on either side of the score mark and cutting away the little strip.

Fold only the outer 2 score lines on each side. The middle score lines will not be folded.

Place sticky strip or a strong adhesive tape on the outer 3 tabs on each side (12 total). Also place a piece on the square opposite the inner tabs. (4 total)

Remove the tape liner on the four inner tabs. Bring outside tabs in to form a box like so. Bend back the remaining 12 tabs. Put aside.

The dividers. For each of the 2 1/4" x 4 3/8" pieces score at 1 1/8".

Turn 90 degrees and score at 1/2", 1 5/8", 2 3/4" and 3 7/8"

Cut slits in along the score lines on the 2 ends using the same method as earlier. Do this for all 4 pieces.

Fold all 4 pieces along the score line length ways.

Take TWO of the divider pieces and snip HALF WAY up the score line from the RAW edge towards the fold making a 1/16" slot.

Take the other 2 dividers. But this time snip up from the folded edge.

Your pieces should look like this.

Take the 4 strips and interlock like so to form a grid pattern.

Bend the outside tabs along the score line.

Place the grid in the middle of the box.

One tab at a time, remove tape backing and fold tab into the middle of the box to adhere.

Your box should now look like this.

Punch 9 pieces from the Petal Card Punch. You can make them all the same colour or mix and match. Make sure to add pressure to both ends of the punch to ensure that all sides are scored and cut.

Decorate the front of the flaps as desired. I used the Everybunny Stamp set.

Add tape to bottom flap and adhere to bottom edge of each grid compartment.

Continue until all spaces are filled.

Take the 3 /12" x 7 1/2" piece and score at 1 1/2" on one end. Sit finished box on the card and draw a faint line for a guide for decorating.

I used markers and paper piecing to decorate this box and added small brads to each of the drawers using a paper piercer.

I also used a 1 inch strip of Designer Series Paper and adhered it around the top edge and sides of the box. It also helps to disguise the score marks.

Here is one I made for Valentines Day.

Tiny Pennants - oh so cute!

I am sure I am not the one to discover this little idea but I sure was excited that I thought of it at all. So this week is more of a tip than a tutorial. I have had so much fun this afternoon making these little pennants!

First you will need your pennant punch.

Turn it over. I marked mine with a sharpie on each side of the triangle to make it easier to keep them all uniform.

Now just slide in your cardstock or paper up to your mark and punch away.

You will have a pile of triangles in no time!

Here's a couple other ones I made today. You can put a banner pretty much anywhere! I added little pieces of 'Stampin Dimensionals' under the triangles to add some depth

Surprise Pop-Up Card

I designed this card using the concept from Beate's tutorial found here at http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/surprise_pop_up_card
and then changed the dimensions a little. A super fun card to make and give.

Here is MY tutorial.

I recommend reading through the tutorial before you start as it will probably make more sense as you work through it.

The card base is made from 'Crumb Cake'. You will then need:
1 piece of 'Concorde Crush' 3" x 4 1/4"
1 piece 'Bashful Blue' 2 7/8" x 4 1/8"
1 piece of 'Whisper White' 2 3/8" x 4" (Tag)
1 piece of 'Whisper White' 1 7/8" x 2 5/8"
1 piece of 'Pear Pizzazz' 2" x 2 3/4"

I used the stamp set 'Up, Up and Away'

Take the 'Concorde Crush' piece and mark 1/2" on all sides. This will be your back piece so don't worry about the lines.

Cut along the lines on 3 sides following your lines. Do not cut the along the right hand side. Score at 1",
2 3/8 & 3 3/4". Your piece should now look like this. I erased the pencil lines on mine so it wouldn't look confusing.

Fold your score lines and your piece of cardstock should now look like this. Set aside.

Cut 2 corners off of your piece of Whisper White designated to be your tag.

To help guide the tag as it is pulled in and out I did add the copy paper piece that Beate recommended in her tutorial. I made one card without and it didn't slide as nicely. What you will want to do is cut a piece of plain computer paper about 1/2" wide by 5 1/2". Adhere on your piece of Concorde Crush as shown but only to the width of the tag.

Lay your tag piece over the strip and fold over the 2 pieces of PC paper.

Stick the 2 edges together. Do not tape down onto the tag. The PC paper is just a guide so your tag will need to be able to move up and down through it.

Add sticky strip to lower scored piece as shown.

Remove backing and adhere, matching the lower edge of the tag with open edge of Concorde Crush.

Slide the tag out of the guide so that you can use a circle punch at the top to create a notch. Punch through cardstock and the PC paper. Re-insert the tag into the guide. It should now look like this.

Apply sticky strip on the 2 sides and bottom around the tag. Remove backing.

Adhere the piece of bashful blue.

Turn over and time to work on the front.

For the balloons, use your markers and colour directly on your stamp. Using the side of the broad end is usually easier. I used markers in Concorde Crush and Pear Pizzazz. After colouring your stamp, give it a quick huff with your breath to make sure all the ink is still wet and then stamp on a scrap piece of whisper white cardstock.

Cut around the edges of both your balloons.
Grab your smaller piece of whisper white that you cut previously and lay your balloons where you would like them to be. Don't stick them down yet. Use a pencil to 'guess-timate' where your baskets will go.

Stamp your baskets, clouds and flag stings.

Attach your balloons with a couple Stampin' Dimensionals.
Tape or adhere your balloon piece onto the Pear Pizzazz piece you cut earlier.

Grab your Concorde Crush piece again and apply Sticky Strip on the middle part only as shown.

Adhere the balloon piece. The bottom edge should line up to the folded edge not the cut edge.

Time to add the sentiment stamp. Pull your tag up to expose the bashful blue cardstock and stamp.

Slide shut again. Punch a hole at the top of the tag. Tie a piece of Pear Pizzazz seam binding.

Turn over and apply sticky strip to the 4 sides. Remove backing.

Place on the front of your Crumb Card cardstock. Press down to make sure adhered well.

And you are done!
